Export control laws regulate the dissemination of certain technologies, data, and materials to protect national security and U.S. economic interests. 

UH has provided guidance to help faculty, staff and students determine whether export control training is required for participation in federally funded research projects, in accordance with National Security Presidential Memorandum-33 (NSPM-33) and/or other University academic and business activities.
