Jamie Peno
Jamie Peno is the Executive Director for the Research Integrity and Oversight Office. She joined UH from the University of North Texas (UNT), where she served as Assistant Vice President
for Research Integrity and Compliance. Prior to joining UNT, Jamie served in research
compliance roles at the University of Central Oklahoma and Rice University. She has
over 18 years’ experience in research administration and has created and contributed
to programs in the areas of research with human subjects/Institutional Review Board
(IRB), research with animals/Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC),
Conflict of Interest (COI), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Responsible Conduct
of Research (RCR), Export Control and Research Security, and Research Misconduct.
Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar University and a Master of Science
degree from the University of North Texas. She is a member of several research administration
organizations and is known for her positive communication, solutions-based approach
to compliance and her dedication to educating the research community in research ethics.
