Career Highlights: 
Agustín Vallejo is a Research Assistant Professor at the Hobby School of Public Affairs. His research explores electoral politics, political careers and the role of gender and minority representation in Latin America and the United States. Vallejo has published in journals including Party Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Politics & Gender, Electoral Studies and the Latin American Research Review. His work has been supported by the American Political Science Association and the University of Houston.

In addition to his research, Vallejo teaches graduate courses in research methods, statistics, and quantitative modeling for the Master of Public Administration and Master of Public Policy programs. He has also contributed to policy-oriented projects through the Hobby School’s Texas Trends reports, focusing on elections, legislative issues and public opinion.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Vallejo holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from Rice University and a B.A. in Political Science from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
