Every UH student, faculty, and staff member has a ShastaBUCKS account, it just needs funds to be activated. Once you add money, you’re ready to spend anywhere ShastaBUCKS is accepted, including UH Sugar Land and UH Katy.

ShastaBUCKS is a convenient option for any cardholder to load funds to make purchases at any participating on-campus merchants.

You can use ShastaBUCKS at on-campus dining spots, UH Campus Store, vending machines, printing labs, and even with Grubhub for both on and off campus orders!

How Does It Work?

You have two convenient options to make a deposit.

1. You can add ShastaBUCKS on the UH Go app by tapping on the section with your Cougar Card information, then tap on the "Account Info" icon on the top menu. Finally, tap on the "Add Cash" option. 
2. You can also make a deposit online at AccessUH. Once you log in to AccessUH, click on the “Cougar Card Connect” icon and select "Make a ShastaBUCKS Deposit" on the side menu.

Once you've made a deposit, you're ready to start spending your ShastaBUCKS at any participating location!

Account Closures

You may close your ShastaBUCKS account at any time. There is a $5 processing fee for closing an account with a balance of $5 or more; balances less than $5 are nonrefundable. All refunds from closed ShastaBUCKS accounts will be credited against any debts owed by the cardholder to the University of Houston. Cash withdrawals are not permitted. 

Important Things to Know

• Physical and digital Cougar Card access: you can make purchases using ShastaBUCKS with your physical Cougar Card and by scanning your digital card at participating locations.
• For purchases only: ShastaBUCKS balances are not eligible for cash withdrawal.
• Use it or lose it: ShastaBUCKS rolls over from semester to semester, but if your account remains inactive for a full year any remaining balance will be forfeited.
• ShastaBUCKS cannot be used to purchase tobacco or alcoholic beverages.
