Standing Committees
The Faculty Council is a university-level shared governance group composed of 60 elected and appointed full-time tenured and non-tenure track faculty members. Faculty councilors along with administration work collectively to achieve a common vision of excellence for the University.
The Council has four standing committees:
- Executive Committee (EC)
- Curriculum Committee (CC)
- Faculty Affairs Committee (FAC)
- Research & Scholarship Committee (RSC)
The work of these Council committees ensures that university policies, curriculum, research, and academic freedom improve the quality of campus life, the surrounding community and the national academic reputation of the institution. Faculty Council meetings are open to the public and are scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (please see the "Calendar" page of this website for more details).
Faculty members who have questions may contact a Council member from their college at fcouncil@central.uh.edu.
