Facilities Planning and Construction delivers exceptional and enduring projects that maximize value and support the University's Tier One strategic initiatives through superior facilities planning and project management services.

Facilities Services

Facilities Services provides responsible and quality stewardship for the long term preservation and growth of the University’s physical assets through the unified delivery of planned work, while remaining cost effective and competitive.

Facilities Business Operations and Compliance provides the comprehensive business resources necessary to support and uphold Facilities/Construction Management’s role as stewards for the preservation and growth of the University’s physical environment.

Facilities / Construction Management Committees

Maintenance Project Evaluation Committee (MPEC)

Each year, the University of Houston receives approximately $14 million from the state’s higher education fund to finance facilities maintenance and renovation projects. Utilizing a formal project request and evaluation process, allocation of these funds is managed by the University’s Maintenance Project Evaluation Committee (MPEC - formerly known as the CRDM committee). Building Coordinator Program

The diversity of University programs and activities often requires coordination of building operations by various departments. The building Coordinator Program mission is to: facilitate communications, support facility capital planning, and represent user needs within the buildings. This program is designed to provide a forum for discussion and resolution for occupancy problems. Physical Recovery Emergency Planning (PREP)

The Physical Recovery Emergency Planning Subcommittee supports university emergency planning through the utilization of an aligned and integrated Physical Response Model. The Physical Recovery Team is charged with the coordination of physical infrastructure response and recovery efforts, to partner with the university and community to effectively and efficiently prepare for, prevent, respond to, and recover from any and all emergency situations impacting the campus.
